Who we are

We are the Optica Student Chapter “PoliPhotonics” at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), a group of students and researchers passionate about optics and photonics. Our goal is to create an active meeting point for those who work, study, or are simply interested in the science of light and its applications.

The chapter was born within the environment of the Nanophotonics Technology Institute (NTC), where for over a year we have been promoting scientific activities such as seminars, round tables, and poster sessions. All of these share the same mission: to foster scientific outreach, knowledge exchange, and collaboration between research groups both inside and outside the UPV.

Photonic Forge II

Photonic Forge is a scientific workshop organized by the newly established Optica Student Chapter “PoliPhotonics” at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), designed to connect the photonics and nanophotonics research community in Valencia. It is a space created for undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students, as well as professionals, looking to share ideas and establish new collaborations.

The second edition of this event took place on February 20, 2026, at the Nexus Building (6G) of the UPV. Participants enjoyed high-level talks, poster sessions, and invited lectures showcasing the latest research, creating the perfect atmosphere for connecting and learning across various groups.
