Photonic Forge II

Photonic Forge is a scientific workshop organized by the newly established Optica Student Chapter “PoliPhotonics” at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), designed to connect the photonics and nanophotonics research community in Valencia. It is a space created for undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students, as well as professionals, looking to share ideas and establish new collaborations.

The second edition of this event took place on February 20, 2026, at the Nexus Building (6G) of the UPV. Participants enjoyed high-level talks, poster sessions, and invited lectures showcasing the latest research, creating the perfect atmosphere for connecting and learning across various groups.

Seminars and Invited Talks

One of the core missions of our PoliPhotonics Optica Student Chapter is the outreach and promotion of optics and photonics, sharing our passion for light with both the scientific community and the general public. To achieve this, we host regular seminars to share cutting-edge research directly from professionals in the field.

These sessions feature a diverse range of speakers, from young researchers, PhD candidates, and students presenting their latest progress, to internationally renowned investigators. To date, we have had the honor of hosting distinguished figures such as Carlos Alonso Ramos and Sergei Tretyakov, establishing these meetings as a fundamental pillar of our Chapter’s activities.
